ENTRY FORMS ARE NOW AVAILABLE!
All completed Entry Forms and Parental Agreement Forms should be turned into the student's science and technology teacher at his or her school. All home school students should contact and coordinate entries with Home School Coordinator, Amy Fortenberry at 409-331-9943 or email amy.fortenberry@gmail.com.
The 12th Annual Angelina County Science & Tech Fair is an annual event that allows 6th-12th graders to compete in science and technology-related competitions. The event is a project of the Leadership Lufkin class and relies on sponsors and volunteers to be successful.
A scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who is enrolling in a college, university, or institute of higher learning for the next semester. The senior must be participating in either the Life Science or Invention competition and excel in one of these two events.
This year’s competitions include the following. Click each one for the problem rules and scoring rubrics:
- Conversion Contraption
- Eggonaut Rocket
- Invention (with option for computer modding)
- Life Science Project
- Rube Goldberg - (middle school participants)
- Rube Goldberg - (high school participants)
- Toothpick Tower
IMPORTANT DATES:
April 17, 2009: Deadline for teachers to submit all entry forms to the Chamber of Commerce.
May 5, 2009: All projects must be checked in at the George H. Henderson, Jr. Exposition Center (2:30 p.m.—6:30 p.m.)
May 6, 2009: Angelina County Science & Tech Fair Competition
By attending or participating in this Fair, you are giving the Lufkin/Angelina County Chamber of Commerce permission to use any likeness or photography taken during any part of this event for publicity purposes.
